What automations can I set up for my business?

Anything you'd ask an assistant to keep doing can be an automation. Copy one of the ideas below, change it to fit your business, and send it to your bot. It sets it up and turns it on.

Step 1: Pick an idea

Your day

• "Every evening at 7, text me tomorrow's jobs."

• "Every Monday at 8 a.m., text me this week's jobs."

• "Every morning, text each technician their jobs for the day."

Sales

• "Each time a deal is created, post it in our #sales channel on Slack."

• "When a quote has been sent for 3 days with no answer, remind me to call the customer."

• "When a booking is added, post it in Discord."

• "When someone books a meeting, move their deal to Meeting Booked."

Money

• "If an invoice over $5,000 becomes overdue, call me."

• "When an invoice is overdue, remind the customer by email."

• "When an invoice becomes paid, post it in #wins."

Jobs and customers

• "When a job becomes done, add a task to ask the customer for a review."

• "When a new customer is added, add a note with what we know about them."

Reminders

• "Remind me Friday at 3 to call Bob."

• "Every Friday, send me a summary of the week: jobs done, quotes sent, money in."

Step 2: Send it to your bot

Open Bots and your bot, paste your idea and send. The bot answers with a card. Click Test it to see what it does.

Good to know

• What can start one: a customer, deal, quote, job, invoice, task, booking, or a text, email or call being added or changing status; a schedule (15 minutes at the shortest); or one set time.

• What it can do: Slack, Discord, Text, Email, Call, Task, Note, Webhook, Wait and AI. An AI step handles judgment and summaries, like "the week in three lines".

• Messages to customers need your yes first: the bot shows the exact words.

• You can also start from your CRM: Settings › Automations › New automation.

If it doesn't work

• The bot asks which channel, person or time. Answer it, and it finishes the automation.

• "Out of credits." Add credits. AI steps, texts and calls use credits.
