How do I try a sample first, or undo an import?
Click Import the sample to bring over a few contacts first. Undo the sample or Undo the whole import removes what it brought; your team's work stays.
In the Try a sample step, pick 10, 25 or 50 contacts and click Import the sample. If you don't like it, click Undo the sample. After a full import, Undo the whole import removes everything it brought in.
Also called: test import, trial import, preview import, roll back an import, cancel import, essai, échantillon, annuler l'importation
A sample is a few recent contacts with everything linked to them: their deals, history, notes and files. It goes into your app's real data, so you see your own customers in Alori before bringing over the rest.
Step 1: Import a sample
On your HubSpot import page, open Try a sample. Next to Contacts in the sample, pick 10, 25 or 50. Click Import the sample. When it's done, you see "Sample imported" with the number of records.
Click: Import data › HubSpot › Import the sample
Step 2: Check it in your app
Click Open with your project's name. Look at a few customers: their history, notes and files. Something wrong? Undo the sample (Step 3), change your choices in Check what comes over, then import the sample again.
Click: Open your project
Step 3: Undo the sample, or keep it
To remove it, click Undo the sample, then confirm with Undo the sample. To keep it and bring the rest, click Looks good, import everything. Records the sample brought in are updated, not doubled.
Click: Undo the sample
Step 4: Undo a full import
After Import everything is done, click Undo the whole import, then confirm. It removes everything this import brought in, the sample included.
Click: Import everything › Undo the whole import
Good to know
Undo keeps records your team has changed since, like a job added to an imported customer.
Undoing the sample also removes the automations it made from your HubSpot workflows, unless you imported everything since.
Undo only removes what the import brought. To clear everything, imported or typed by hand, see How do I delete all imported data and start over?
Imports made with the API have their own Undo under Recent imports. See How do I import data with the API?
If it doesn't work
"An import is running. Wait for it or stop it." You can't undo while an import runs. Wait for it to finish.
"That didn't work. Try again." Click undo again in a moment.
The buttons are grey. Fix the problems listed under Fix these before importing first.
