How much vacation does each employee get?
In Quebec, Vacation follows the law by seniority from each person's hire date: up to 2 weeks the first year, 2 weeks after 1 year, 3 weeks after 3 years.
Alori works it out for you. The Vacation type follows Quebec's labour standards by seniority, from each person's hire date: 1 day per full month worked in the first year (up to 2 weeks), 2 weeks after 1 year, and 3 weeks after 3 years. Each person's file shows what's left.
Also called: vacation days, paid time off, PTO, holidays, seniority, vacances, congés annuels, ancienneté, normes du travail
Step 1: Check the Vacation type
Go to Employees › Time off and click Time off types. Click Edit next to Vacation. By seniority, as Quebec law sets is on for new apps. Turn it on for an older app, then click Save. With it on, there's no number of days to type.
Click: Employees › Time off › Time off types › Edit › By seniority, as Quebec law sets › Save

Step 2: Add each person's hire date
Open the person under Employees and click Edit. Fill in Hire date. Without it, Alori uses the type's days a year instead.
Step 3: See what's left
On each person's file, Time off · {year} shows "{left} of {allowed} days left" for each kind of time off. Your employees see their own balance on their page, and when they ask for time off.
How it's counted
Seniority is counted on April 30, the end of Quebec's reference year. Someone hired on January 15 has 3 full months by April 30: 3 days.
Days are working days, Monday to Friday. Statutory holidays don't count as days off: a week of vacation that includes June 24 counts 4 days.
Sick and personal days keep the number you set on their type. Quebec's minimum is 2 paid sick days a year after 3 months.
Vacation pay (4% or 6%) is worked out by your payroll provider.
You can ask Ask Alori: "How much vacation does Marc have left?"
If it doesn't work
"0 of 0 days left". The person was hired after April 30 of that year, so they start earning for next year. Check their Hire date.
You don't see the switch. It shows only in apps that follow Quebec rules.
