How do I see a database as a calendar, timeline, gallery or chart?
Click + beside the view tabs and pick Calendar, Timeline, Gallery or Chart. Each one reads the columns you pick in the view's options.
Click + beside a database's view tabs and pick Calendar, Timeline, Gallery or Chart. The same rows show in a new layout, and the sliders button sets which columns it reads.
Also called: calendar view, Gantt, timeline, cards, gallery, graph, chart, donut, vue calendrier, chronologie, galerie, graphique.
Step 1: Add the view
Click + beside the view tabs and pick a layout. A calendar or timeline uses your first Date column. A timeline with a second Date column runs from the first to the second.
Click: + › Calendar
Step 2: Use the calendar
Each row shows on its day in a month grid. Use Today and the arrows to change month. Drag a row to another day to move its date, or point at a day and click + to add a row on that day. On a phone, the month shows as a list of the days that have rows.
Click: Calendar › + on a day
Step 3: Use the timeline
Each row is a bar from its start to its end. Drag a bar to move both dates, or drag its right edge to change the end. Pick Weeks or Months to zoom. Click on the empty line of a row with no date to give it that day.
Click: Timeline › Weeks
Step 4: Use the gallery
Each row is a card. To show a picture on each card, open the sliders button and pick a Files & media column under Card preview: the card shows its first image.
Click: Gallery › sliders button › Card preview
Step 5: Use the chart
Open the sliders button. Pick Bars, Line or Donut, the column it is Grouped by (a Select or Status works well), and what it Shows: Count of rows, or the sum of a Number column.
Click: Chart › sliders button › Donut
If it doesn't work
"This view needs a Date column. Add one, then pick it in the view's options.": add a Date column, then pick it under Date property.
"Pick the column this chart groups by in the view's options.": choose a column under Grouped by.
A row isn't on the calendar: its date is empty, or a filter on the view hides it.
