Click the pointer button under the chat box, click the thing in the preview, then type what to change. Press Esc to cancel.

Click Point to something in the preview under the chat box, then click the button, field, heading or other thing you mean in the preview. It gets attached to your message, so Alori knows exactly what you're talking about.

Also called: element picker, select an element, click to edit, show Alori, pointer, pointer un élément, sélectionner, montrer à Alori

Step 1: Turn on pointing

Click the pointer button (a dashed square with an arrow) at the bottom of the chat. A bar says "Click something in the preview. Press Esc to cancel." On a small screen, the preview opens for you.

Click: Point to something in the preview

Step 2: Click the thing you mean

Move over the preview and click what you want changed. Pointing stops after one click and you go back to the chat.

Click: the thing in the preview

Step 3: Say what to change and send

A small tag now sits above your text with what you clicked, like "New · Customers". Type what you want, for example "Make this green", and press Send. Changed your mind? Click the X on the tag to remove it.

Click: Your request › Send

You can point at one thing per message. To cancel while pointing, press Esc or click the pointer button again (Stop pointing).

If it doesn't work

  • "This preview can't be pointed at yet. It will work after your next change rebuilds it." Your preview was built before pointing existed. Ask for any change in the chat, then try again.

  • Nothing happens when you click. Check that the bar "Click something in the preview" is showing. If not, click the pointer button again.
